Lol skip. I saw a guy called Mimmo waving his crutches (he had a broken leg from a car accident) around while yelling abuse, so much so that he dropped both of them. One fell just in front of him but the other went over the side of the grandstand. It was at a soccer match in the Italian serie B. Mimmo was the capo degli ultrà, a grizzled old cheerleader of the hardcore fans, so it was more-or-less his job to get worked up.
Conclusion: crutches are not a speech impediment.

My father can't speak without his hands. Come to think of it, neither can the rest of my family, all of whom are of Italian heritage. :-)
Dontcry: I don't know about Freudian slips in ASL, but I've made quite a few rather alarming errors in my quest to master the language. Apparently, in ASL I curse like a longshoreman.

I used to take the bus all the time. There was a rider who sent daily faxes to the pope, a rider who got banned the third time he tried to transport big leaky garbage bags, and another rider who would talk to herself using fingerspelling--she and I once started having an interesting conversation about police officers and weapons, but fingerspelling takes a long time and we got to my stop before I could find out too much.
